Serena Partridge Exhibition - Height of Fashion - Saturday 10th December 2011. Looking forward to it because it's going to be AMAZING!! And an excuse to turn the shop into a complete boudoir boutique palace. With cake... lots of cake... Let them eat cake...

Grand Launch tomorrow...

So the deal is... Karen T exhibition launch / GooseandtheMoose exhibition launch goes down 18:00hrs - Very excited, we want to get the place buzzing, the art is proper ace and we can't wait to show everyone what G&tM is all about and show off the end results of all our hard work. Karen's site is at http://www.karent.co.uk

See you there!!!!

Website needing some love, but not enough hours in the day -  am planning to tame this particular beehatch next week - get the thing singing...

Needing to post some photogs up on here soon.

Speaking of photogs, had a visit from our FAVOURITEST snapper today - The inimitable Jim Poyner! check him out - he's got serious moves.

And also from the lovely mudskipper - aka Janet Hayton - who dropped off some must-have mugs and pics... love her work & hope to get more of it at G&tM soon.

And another thing - what is with people who are willing to get fully skanked for crap coffee?????? Chainstore coffee????... Why pay a premium for average coffee when there are people who make it their life's work to find some seriously grade A beans roasted by an artisan with a real passion for the stuff and still manage to charge LESS because we don't have to waste millions on nasty gimmicks and epic national ad campaigns. If you gonna drink coffee, drink coffee...

Laters... Got to go write some lists...

Jim x

OPEN at last!!!

GooseandtheMoose is open for cake, coffee and an ever growing selection of exquisite and beautifully made locally sourced STUFF... So we'd really like to see you all so you can tell us what you think.

We have regular and soya milk and our Italian flourless chocolate cake is serious stuff... We are properly expecting people to get addicted, if HM's government ever find out about it it'll probably become a class A...

SEE YOU ALL SOON... AND DON'T FORGET - KAREN T - UNBREAKABLE LAUNCH - 1-10-2011 at 18:00

Delays.

Hehe...oops.

Well, so much for opening tomorrow... time marches on relentlessly and seemingly we didn't keep up. Although it is looking more like a shop and less like a building site, things just seem to be taking longer than planned... But there is a silver lining, which is the opportunity to do justice to promoting somef the fabulous art we have got lined up for you. Massive thanks to the wonderful Karen T for generally being a legend and letting us launch our gallery space with an exhibition of some of her work - one that should definitely not be missed.

Karen T exhibition launch and GooseandtheMoose opening - 1/10/2011, 8 Finkle Street, Malton. For more info please join our mailing list...

Today's update - Us lot at GooseandtheMoose have finished the demolition - hoorah! and we have now begun to turn the place into an art gallery... the fireplace has been restored and rendered, the stud wall around the stairs is taking shape and the floor is almost clear of sticky rubbery crap. the shop front is painted up to the point where Natasha can reach to and generally stuff seems to be taking shape.

Dust, chimneys and the worm...

An epic few days at G&tM art gallery, Malton... First we find not one but 2 RSJs behind the woodchipped boxing... (phew-  'cos you just can't have a gallery with woodchipped boxing) then we find a functional chimney lurking behind 2 layers of stoothing, almost get killed by the dodgy wiring (sparky booked in for Weds - our customers safety is our top priority don'tcha know...) and lift up the lino to find...

Little Timmy the woodworm having his wicked way with the floorboards...

So that is obviously going to set us back a smidge - So we will now be opening on the 6th September. Sorry folks, but there you have it. On the plus side, we did find a way to heat the pace in winter...

Thanking you all in advance for your patience... Sorry to keep you all waiting...

Jim.

Website!

Lordy heck, time is flying faster than a kevved up Nova... Our little art gallery project is gathering momentum now and we are putting together some awesome work by our fantastic opening artists. Have just gone live with the website, have been trying to optimise it for search engines... but alas, google seems to be 5 paces behind us on this one - when I did finally find us (on about page 74 or something) the listing was a few hours out of date - come on Google, keep up...

Hello! I'm Jimmy Jim James, co-owner of GooseandtheMoose Gallery Emporium, Malton, North Yorkshire - opening September 2011! The other co-owner / co-blogger is my lovely wife Natasha and we are busy busy people at the moment trying to find applied arts, ceramics, sculpture, drawings, prints, textiles, turned wood - you name it - to open with!

We are both designers-turned-artists with backgrounds in architecture and fashion respectively and we share a passion for all things art and design. We will be focusing on giving applied art and beautiful, functional hand made products a gallery style platform as well as exhibiting visual arts by exciting up and coming or undiscovered artists and mavericks with their heads squarely outside the box. We are resolutely without  prejudice or fear and we are open to all forms of creativity, with just one condition - that we - personally - like it.

We hope to become part of the fabric of the local community and  extend our warmest welcome to everyone - we can chat for England and we'll be selling coffee and some fulsomely sinful cake too - and we hope to see you all at GooseandtheMoose in September!
